Asking the Time
A man had been driving all night and was still far from his destination at dawn. He decided to stop in the next town, park somewhere quiet, and sleep for an hour or two.
Unfortunately, he chose one of the city's most popular jogging routes. He had barely started snoring when someone knocked on his window. He looked out.
"What is it?"
"Excuse me, sir. Do you know the time?"
He checked the car clock. "Seven fifteen." The jogger thanked him and ran on.
He lay back down, but just as he was drifting off, there was another knock.
"Excuse me, do you know the time?"
"Seven twenty-five!"
The second jogger thanked him and left. Seeing all the runners passing by, he realized they would keep disturbing him. He took a pen and paper and stuck a sign to the window: 'I DON'T KNOW THE TIME!'
Once again, he settled down to sleep. Just as he was dozing off, someone knocked.
"Sir! Sir! It's seven forty-five!"
