A farmer hovered outside the gate of a government department, peering around. The security guard shouted, "You there! What do you want?"
"I'd like to see the director to get a certificate."
"The director is off today arranging a funeral. His father has just died."
"Could I see the deputy director, then?"
"No. His father has just died, too."
Disappointment showed on the farmer's face, but he tried again. "Could I see the section head?"
"No. Her father-in-law has just died."
"Then let me see the deputy section head."
"No. He's off arranging a funeral today. His grandfather has just died."
"What the fuck? Are you kidding me? How can so many people have died?"
"Who the fuck are you swearing at? If you don't know anything, shut up! Only one person died! The director's father is also the deputy director's father, the section head's father-in-law, and the deputy section head's grandfather."
"The director is the deputy director's older brother, the section head's husband, and the deputy section head's father. You may be swearing at one person, but you're insulting this entire department! Understand? Now go home so I can close the gate!"
"But it's still early. Why close up so soon?"
"I've got to go and help with the funeral. My uncle just died!"
